About us

Undiscovered Country Theatre was founded in 2003 to present Barry Collins’ Judgement at the 2003 Toronto Fringe Festival. Its aim is to present theatre that consistently challenges (as well as entertains) audiences.
Michael Whitehead, Artistic Director

MICHAEL WHITEHEAD is known primarily for his work in musical theatre, having performed in A Foggy Day, Crazy For You and Forever Plaid. He is, at heart, a serious actor, as his work in Three Sisters and Equus will attest. Michael has performed at the Toronto and Winnipeg Fringe Festivals.

DENISE NORMAN (Director) is an MFA Graduate of York University whose performance training includes a focus on Voice and Singing, as well as Clown with Richard Pochinko and Philippe Gaulier. Primarily a performer, DENISE has participated in seven T.O. Fringe shows, including the first Tiresias Bound, all versions of the Fringe's Vile Governess, and in 2002 The Road To Muskoka.

“ Who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the threat of something after death,
The undiscovered country, from whose borne
No traveller returns, puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have,
than fly to others that we know not of.”
